Poisoning by non-pharmaceuticals codes

  • These ICD10 codes have the pattern: "Name of substance" followed by the words ", poisoning".
  • These are not pharmaceutical agents, and with the exception of Alcohol (ethanol), poisoning and Cocaine, overdose/toxicity, they are all exclusively poisons
  • To qualify here, there must be a threat to life, or limb, or to functioning for one or more organs.
  • Note: The lack of pharmaceutical use for all the substances in this category is the reason why these codes have no counterparts for overdoses (with the excepts listed above), adverse events, etc.
