Etoh OD/Intoxication

Template:Discussion Needs to be clarified that a toxic blood alcohol level is present. I'm seeing this code used just because patients are intoxicated. Please clarify that what we are collecting is alcohol toxicity and not just intoxication?

• This is a judgment call per Dr Garland. Levels alone do not define toxicity, especially if a patient has a chronic alcohol problem. Collectors should also look at the clinical signs and symptoms that the patient displays.--CMarks 15:20, 2016 August 25 (CDT)
