  • MNS is an adverse reaction to neuroleptic or antipsychotic drugs characterized by F E V E R:
    • F =Temp>38
    • E=Encephalopathy
    • V=Vitals signs are unstable
    • E =Elevated CPKs
    • R=Rigidity muscles

Drugs such as Haldol, Chlorpromazine, Metoclopramides, Lithium, and antiparkinson drugs Levodopa can cause MNS.

If MNS is coded, don't also code Other overdose - Accidental toxicity-other drugs as this would be redundant as it would not give us any additional data.
