CCMDB.accdb uses MS Access 2010, which is part of MS Office 2010. Upgrading any part of MS Office breaks functionality, even if MS Access is left as 2010. Support for MS Office 2010 expired Oct 2020 and we are looking into what it would take for us to move to a newer version of MS Office.

Shared Health project to upgrade to MS Office 2019

As of 2021-04 there is a project to upgrade all remaining workstations using older versions of office to Office 2019. Emails have gone out (at least at GRA) stating that there will be no exceptions. We have contacted the project team and were given an exception for now. Ryan Garcia will work with us on a solution.

Plan

We are looking for an alternate solution to CCMDB.accdb anyway (see Transition to Database Server). The change will cause extra work and disruptions, so ideally we would like to only make this change once and move to our new solution directly without first updating to 2019.

Problems in CCMDB.accdb with Office 2019/365

Tina forgot to document details at the time, her note only says "Tried to install office 2019, but this broke CCMDB when copied back to collector laptops due to 64-bit conflict; further library reference failures after uninstall of 2019 and reinstall of 2010"

  • Herman has that version, so I emailed him to update here what the problems were when he upgraded.
