AP Sys BP Field

The AP Sys BP data input field records SYSTOLIC blood pressure value.

If a value for this is not available, follow the missing value rule.

Medicine

Apache Systolic BP is used for the MOST score.

• for MOST - Value selected is one that is "closest to the time" the medicine service physician "accepts" the patient to the medicine service from the emergency department.

Critical Care

• It is also one of the values used to calculate the Mean BP for APACHE II.

The AP Sys BP must be >=25 And <=360.

HSC_A4 - I had an admission today that I was unable to find a BP for the MOST score as the patient had mutiple amputations leaving her with just one arm. Her previous surgical ward had not been doing BP's on this limb so her circulation would not be put at risk. Two days after admission to A4 her BP was taken and documented in the progress notes-she would be considered low normal. Do I use this BP? If not, how do I send the file on discharge as there must be data listed for BP? Con Marks.
