Acute Renal Insufficiency
Guideline
- Creatinine >250 mmol or a Rise >100 mmol from baseline over 24 hours
- No Dialysis
- No history of Chronic Renal Failure
- This criteria is poorly written. A patient may have a baseline of 250 and this does not mean they have chronic renal insufficiency. I think it is sufficient to say that the creatinine has risen >100 over baseline over 24 hours or less.

There are a number of coding rules related to renal diagnoses, centralized info about them is in Renal Coding Considerations.
