Legacy Data
- S - Study patient. Any patient enrolled in an ICU study. (tag started: July 1999)
- Primary reason to use this tag was to ID those patients that had more than average blood test done during their ICU admission. A number of patients in clinical trials had agreed to additional lab tests for monitoring. This use to affect the average lab test stats, so we tagged them as "S" and had the option to exclude if study is reason to be an outlier.
- "S" removed as option in CCMDB.mdb Ttenbergen 11:59, 2 November 2010 (CDT)

- FT - Fast Track cardiac surgery patient @ STB. (Tag start date: Jan 26.07)
- NOTE 2 MICU beds used for FT April 20, 2010 to January, 2012 due to Cardiac Sciences staff shortage. Trish Ostryzniuk 14:25, 2012 May 30 (CDT)
- STOP coding FT only in VAR 6- Dec 13.12. Information not coded in STB Electronic Patient Record.Trish Ostryzniuk 11:59, 2012 December 13 (EST)

- P - Pre-booked ICU bed. (tag start date: Mar 1/99 GRACE)
- there are 274 "P" codes in Var 6 for ICU.
- last one coded was 1 pt at Grace in Dec 2010.
- 2 at STB in 2009
- 2 at STB in 2008
- 6 at Oaks in 2006
- 19 at Oaks in 2005,
- from 1999-2004 mostly Oaks and Grace and 4 VIC tagged during this period.

- Remove from ICU Var 6, not being reported it is has been stopped as of today.Trish Ostryzniuk 12:26, 2014 February 27 (CST)
- So we will no longer track AMA pts in the ICU? It is rare I know but it occasionally happens. No problem removing all the other applications of variable 6. --LKolesar 13:55, 2014 February 27 (CST)
H - Held bed : While patient admitted post procedure in an other ICU. (Tag started at the GRA in 2002. Tag not used much)
- H - Hold the ICU bed without the body in it. Grace wanted to know how many ICU beds they were holding while patient went for procedures elsewhere.
- there is a total of six "H" in var 6: 3 for Grace (2002 & 03), 1 for CON (2003), 1 for OAK (2007) and 1 for STB (2008).
- Remove H code from Var 6 for ICU. Not being reported.Trish Ostryzniuk 18:55, 2014 January 20 (CST)--Trish Ostryzniuk 12:26, 2014 February 27 (CST)

Discussion
H still used?
What if conflicting values apply?
- What if several apply? I.E. what is to be coded if a patient is both "P" and "AMA"? We can't record both, so likely they should not all be recorded in the same variable. If none can be dropped, we need to prioritize the importance of coding them, and Julie needs to put that caveat on her numbers. --Ttenbergen 03:22, 24 July 2008 (CDT)
- Tina, I am rushed today but essentially a FT patient would never leave AMA. So no worries. Laura (26 Jan 2009)
- but how about a pre-booked (P) fast tracked (FT) patient? Ttenbergen 12:01, 2 November 2010 (CDT)
