AP Sys BP Field

The AP Sys BP data input field records SYSTOLIC blood pressure value.

If a value for this is not available, follow the missing value rule.

Medicine

Apache Systolic BP is used for the MOST score.

• for MOST - Value selected is one that is "closest to the time" just prior to when the medicine service physician "accepts" the patient to the medicine service.

Critical Care

• It is also one of the values used to calculate the Mean BP for APACHE II.

Blood Pressure when on IAPB (intra aortic balloon pump)

• If on IABP, use peripheral arterial BP, NOT aortic pressure. We want the worst value in the 1st 24 hrs in ICU, so if possible it would be PRE IABP BP.
