Checking for duplicates in MS Access

This article tells how to check for duplicates in MS Access Data.

Steps

  1. Create
  2. Go to Query Design
  3. It will "Show Table"
  4. Call the table name you want to get find out the duplicate 2014_Sept_16_Province_New_fixed
  5. double-click twice on the field you want to check for duplication
  6. Right click into the criteria field for one of the column/fields you picked and click (Total)
  7. Then click Count for one, leave the other as "Group by"
  8. Then put the criteria you can put (>1)this means you want to see D_ID's present more than once (duplicate, triplicate...)
  9. Then click DataSheetView.
  10. anything listed is at least a duplicate
