Use this code for tunneled lines only which are usually inserted for long term use which needs to be done surgically.
Include:
- Port a Cath
Don't Include:
- regular central line insertion
- vascath insertion
Other specific vascular devices, if program decides can be done as short term studies.
Where to find data
Renal MD will declare plan for permanent line insertion (vascath is temporary line) and state it as "schedule for tunneled line insertion"-hard to miss-patients are pending this procedure where and when no further improvement or return in renal function is anticipated.--Llemoine 13:44, 2016 April 21 (CDT)
