  • Open CFE
  • don't double-click the report
    • double-clicking will run the report which takes a long time and Access will be unresponsive until done
      • report R_completePT for listing including Pharm and Lab, ie critical care and only when those are needed
      • report R_completePT__noLabPharm for basically a medical patient listing
      • report R_completePT__ALERT as *noLabPharm but has MOST/ALERT score
      • make a copy of a report if you want to edit it
  • right-click and design-view
  • delete fields you don't want, re-arrange others as convenient
  • right-click in the gray space under "report footer" and choose "properties"
    • you should now see the properties window with "report" in the dropdown box at the top, if not, choose "report" there
  • click the "data" tab
  • click the button with the three dots at the end of the the "record source" line; this opens the query whose results determine the contents of the report. Filter as you need. This is the tricky part, if you can't get it to do what you need talk to Tina or Brad.
  • close the query and allow it to save
  • right-click in the gray area under report footer again and choose "report view"; Access will now generate the report. This is a slow process, takes a few seconds per patient. Access will lock up while it is working on this, but you can still use the PC for other work.
  • when the report shows you can print it, either to a printer or to a pdf driver if you have one installed.
