Wiki install and maintenance

This article gives some pointers re. the installation of this wiki. Since that will all also apply to the Sleep and Neuro wikis, this will be the documentation for those wikis as well.

Login and contact info for the wiki hosting company is at Y:\wikis (accessible to the Quality and Process Engineering Group)

Setup

During setup we found the following

• localsettings.php was changed from standard for user rights and uploading; see comments (start with #) in the file itself for details
• localsettings.php also changed to force login to see pages.
• save ~40MB per wiki by cleaning out non-english language message files; keep only the following
  • <wiki directory>/languages/messages/MessagesEn.php
  • easiest to do the cleanup to one folder and then replace the folders for the other wikis with that folder
• we had to fiddle with the rights to the images folder, the server has to have write rights, not everyone.
