ACS: Difference between revisions

There is no code for ACS in ICD-10. When a Data Collector see only an ACS (acute coronary syndrome) diagnosis on a chart, then they should seek information to code one or more of the following:

Ischemic heart disease, acute NOS

	1 in the old schema it might have been one of the following: Myocardial infarction (10200) Unstable angina (15100) Acute coronary insufficiency (15200) Witnessed Cardiac Arrest (10002) or Unwitnessed Cardiac Arrest (10001) what should it be in the new schema? Someone marked it as Ischemic heart disease, acute NOS - is that the only one?

oxygen supply/demand issues

ACS can also be due to oxygen supply/demand issues eg. anemia, bleeding, stress, etc., in that case code as above and also code the issue that is the cause if possible.
