We discussed this at the task meeting today. Determined that it would be easy to implement input and storage for the data (use a new code for both and retire the old one). Need to confirm following before implementation:

* Laura: would this be collectable? IE. is the information to make the determination whethcer ECMO was VV or VA always straightforward from the record, even without being able to ask for confirmation? If so, we will implement. Ttenbergen 14:15, 2015 July 9 (CDT)
This dx code is no longer active because it was split into two separate codes:  
**ICMS at STB only keeps VV ecmo patients.  If a patient has AV ecmo inserted then they are readily transported to the Cardiac ICU.  I would be able to differentiate these. It is collectable, how do you want us to document this?--[[User:LKolesar|LKolesar]] 07:59, 2015 July 20 (CDT)
