Anyone, please delete this after June 30 2009:  
Summary: Vic had been collecting patients arriving with CPAP/BIPAP,
not only new ones. The original instructions here did not exclude
existing cases. Collectors are concerned that changing the criteria
will skew data.


*Trish, prior to this latest edition of the Task we here at the Vic had always understood this to be a "yes" or "no" question. With this new information it will impact on the method of data collection. So, if you have kept reporting even existing treatments since the discussion about this started, please stop and only report new starts going forward. ***We had been collecting all patients who were on CPAP/BiPAP on the medicine wards. Not just the new CPAP/BiPAP patients. With this new information in the wiki, I understand that we are now only to collect the patients who have been newly ordered to have CPAP/BiPAP on this admission to the hospital. Task items replaced iTISS as a sampler of specific "nursing workload" items that the medicine program wanted to continue to track. Possible entries for BiPAP/CPAP: (None, Yes)

Done on your ward?

Only mark a task as performed if it was done during a patients stay on your ward. If a task was done prior to patient coming to your ward or after patient is transferred to another ward, it should be marked as none during the stay on your ward.

Patient managed?

If a patient managing there own BiPAP then this should not be marked. However, if it was started during this admission, mark it.
