Types of Desensitization
- Data collectors: have you ever admitted anyone for narcotic desensitization in your ICU or medicine ward? I would like a keep a list of all types of desensitization being included under this group. --TOstryzniuk 19:16, 23 November 2009 (CST)
Where to list this Diagnosis
- note: this is not a OR so should not be listed under category other or.
- However, in the PDA and in Access, this diagnosis is listed under Other-OR. If it's changed, it should be changed in both places.
- Do any of the collector have any suggestions where this code might best be list under? It is not an operation so how the heck to you find it under Other OR? I would never think to look there. I think it should go under Other Medical? --TOstryzniuk 19:15, 23 November 2009 (CST)
- I would not think to look anywhere else other than "other medical"...So I agree, as a newcomer, that it should go under "other medical".--Wturner 12:23, 24 November 2009 (CST)
- If you change the listing of this one diagnosis it will mess with its listing in the PDA. The PDA lists all dxs in order of Diagnosis code. This one happens to sit between procedures, right between "Aborted Procedure 2nd to Complic" (84812) and "Other"(84890). The PDA's sorting relies on this order to present a specifically indented spelling of the subdiagnosis as a main diagnosis. To change where and how this diagnosis is listed properly you would have to assign it a number among the "Other Medical" "Other Problem" range, e.g. 89905. Ttenbergen 14:18, 24 November 2009 (CST)
