This calculation is used to compute the predicted risk of hospital death for groups of acutely ill patients.
- Our Database Diagnosis Codes are mapped to the Mapping Database Diagnosis Codes to APACHE II but we do not use this model to predict risk of hospital death in our Regional Stat Reports.
- If we don't use this then what are we documenting here? Ttenbergen 10:30, 29 October 2010 (CDT) Template:Discussion
- To compute the risk (R) of hospital death for each individual patient we use the following formula:
- Ln(R/l-R)=3.517+(APACHE II score x 0.146) + (0.603, only if post emergency surgery) + (Mapping Database Diagnosis Codes to APACHE II weight)
- what is R? Ttenbergen 10:30, 29 October 2010 (CDT) Template:Discussion
- Ln(R/l-R)=3.517+(APACHE II score x 0.146) + (0.603, only if post emergency surgery) + (Mapping Database Diagnosis Codes to APACHE II weight)
- coefficients are coefficients of something. What are the below coefficients of?Ttenbergen 10:30, 29 October 2010 (CDT) Template:Discussion
- -ve coefficient = good prognosis
- +ve coefficient = bad prognosis
