We link patient-ward-stays into patient-hospitalizations where possible. The linked data is used for
- Re-admission (has questions)
- Continuous Stay (has questions)
- which reports care? please update and link relevant articles? .
Definition of linking is in I think we already have an article, which?.
The multiple encounter consistency checks tests for record pairs that are almost-but-not-quite a continuous stay.
Use
The data processor will check it weekly and fix likely matches found as appropriate. <will need to update vetting to tell where this fits. >
The task is currently done by the Statistician and we'd like to get it off her plate.
Definition of checks
Need to consolidate/clean from
- Check admit-from/discharge-to multiple encounters
- Check admit-from/discharge-to ICU but single encounter
- Check admit-from/discharge-to Medicine but single encounter
Fields: Admit FROM, discharge TO, admit and discharge dates and times. Special note: Med Var 6 - AMA, ICU Var 6 - AMA
