*it appears that at HSC when other staff log into another persons laptop, shortcuts are missing.  For the news and back up, they have to  edit the news and backup script to ensure output folder name is correct for their location.

All data collection laptops should have the same shortcuts on their desktop. To make sure they are consistent, and available for all users who log onto the laptop, we use the Desktop install.bat to set them up.

Fix if any shortcuts are missing or incorrect

  1. Open the regional server
    • Regional Server shortcut if available
    • navigate directly to Regional Server if no shortcut
  2. navigate to Maintenance directory
  3. run (double-click) Desktop install.bat
