Guidelines
For ICU
- Requires defibrillation/cardioversion or Tx with
- continuous antiarrythmics infusion
- bolus Tx does not qualify
For Medicine
(changed 1 Jun 09)
- new onset
- EKG/Rhythm strip showing tachyarrythmia
- receiving drug or electronic treatment
Discussion
- I had written down during our meeting "receiving drug or electronic treatment". This was changed to "requires...". We can find out from the chart if someone is receiving it, do we actually track somewhere whether they require it? My understanding is that we don't track requirement, only actual receiving, so I am changing this back. Ideally the two are the same, but since Trish changed my wording I wonder: is there a difference? And if so, is it "requires" that we want, or "receiving"? Ttenbergen 15:10, 2 June 2009 (CDT)
