Definition of metastatic and non metastatic for the database
- Non metastatic in our program refers to the primary site.
- Metastatic in our program refers to the site where the the cancer has spread to.
- For example: a pt with a primary site of bowel cancer which has mets to the liver would be coded as follows:
- Bowel-non-metatstatic
- Liver-metastatic
