This applies to the APACHE II ARF checkbox only.
To put a checkmark in Acute Renal Failure (ARF) checkbox for ICU APACHE, a patient must meet both of the following criteria:
- for 8 hrs consecutively in the first 24 hrs of ICU admission:
- creatinine > 133 mmols and
- urine < 135 cc
- a patient who has a comorbid diagnosis of Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) should NOT have a checkmark in this checkbox.
