APACHE II has its own Diagnostic Categories with assigned weights that are used in a formula to predict risk of death.

  • The Regional ICU/Medicine Database Diagnostic Codes have been mapped to the APACHE II Diagnostic Categories by Dr. Carla Chrusch with some help from Trish in 2003 then Kendiss Olafson with Julie in 2005.

  • APACHE II has its own Diagnostic Categories with assigned weights for calculating the risk of death.
    • negetive coefficient is associated with a good outcome
