Revision as of 10:45, 4 November 2010

The Filter field is currently used to tag patients that are on a long term ventilator (LTV).

In Critical Care only, add LTV to the Filter field under the "Reg&ADL&Var" tab in the patient viewer in CCMDB.mdb if either of the following:

  • currently home ventilated patient: patient is already on home/institution ventilation either on an LP 3-10 (type of portable home ventilator).
  • home ventilation start: a decision has been confirmed to start patient on home ventilation during the "current" admission/
    • consult not sufficient: a consult to home ventilation service is not sufficient because some patients are turned down by the LTV Service or successfully weaned off of the ventilator. Example: C spine injury; severe COPD.

Legacy Data

1. HSC-CCU Only.

  • Started: Sept 25, 2003
  • Stopped 2005
  • B = CCU patient on B3 only
  • H = CCU patient on H7-CCU only
  • BH = CCU patient on BOTH B3 & H7-CCU during one admission

Purpose was to capture CCU patient location during ICU CCU bed closure and during some renovations.

2. HSC & STB-CCU patients only. Tags used for ICU:

  • CC - intubated/ventilated patient in MICU under care of cardiology service or co-managed with MICU attending
  • CCN - not ventilated but requires inotrope support, IABP or central lines in MICU under the care of cardiology service or co-managed with MICU attending

Patients that co-managed by CCU & MICU attending service at the teaching hospitals. This code applies to coronary care patients who are deemed "too sick" for the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and are managed or co-managed in the Medical ICU because they required one or more of the following:

  • ventilation
  • inotropes
  • central lines
  • IABP
