This article explains the process of crosschecking our patient identifier from our database with Manitoba Health Database (MHSC).

Purpose of sending data to MHSC?

  • for crosschecking our database patient identifiers (PHIN, FN, LN, DOB, Gender) against MHSC database
  • aligning and correcting our patient ID information with MHSC
  • maintaining consistency of key patient identifiers in our database when a patient is readmitted.
  • we are now getting additional data, what is it? Ttenbergen 22:22, 2012 November 1 (EDT)Template:Discussion

Sending to MHSC

  • data files that are exported from the ICU and Medicine database every 2-3 months
  • PHIN, LN, FN, DOB & Gender are included in a EXCEL file
  • A Paper Log Records batch number, date send and date recieved from MHSC.
  • One sent/received log form for ICU another for Medicine.
  • CD's are kept sleeves in this binder with these MHSC send/recieved logs.

Instruction on how to run the MB Health ACCESS database "Conditioner" Program

typing data into a EXCEL table to report % match/no match from MHSC

  • When data is returned from MB Health, after Pagasa runs the Manitoba Health_"Conditioner" program, she counts the number of corrections made in our database for each patient identifier. She manually counts then she enters this information into an EXCEL spreadsheet where info is automatically tallied.
  • PURPOSE: statistician would like to keep track of the number of corrections made.

Explain the naming structure, where is the Excel sheet, is the data being used in any way?...Template:Discussion

  • Trish started a system of sending data for cross checking with MHSC.
  • Dr. Carla Chrusch facilitate this opportunity with MHSC.
  • Julie took over the process and improved it in 2003.
