This will become active as of version CCMDB.mdb_Change_Log_2011#ver_2011-04-21
Using the mouse/trackpad to navigate through CCMDB.mdb can be tricky and slow, so many fields can be accessed with keyboard shortcuts. Generally, if there is an underlined letter in the label of a control (e.g. button, field, tab), then clicking alt and the letter will take you there.
feedback
- fixed for ver_2011-04-27
- labs, tmp too small, not helpful
- letters bigger in Dx and Como
Some notes on how this works
General MS Access keyboard shortcuts can be found [1].
When a form is open you can use the keyboard shortcut to move directly to the control that it corresponds to.
In a form with Tabs, you will be moved to the field inside the current tab rather than the field with the shortcut in the main form. This means you might have to use a different first shortcut to get out of the tab. The easiest is to go to the registry tab using alt-R For example, to go from inside the Labs tab to the Pharmacy you could press alt-AP to first get out of the labs tab to the registry, and then to the pharmacy tab. You can keep the alt key pressed during this.
Viewer Shortcuts
In the viewer there are many more fields than there are letters, so only some fields are accessible. I tried to make the most of this by keeping in mind that the minimal data set gets filled in at the start, so it should not need to be accessed much after that, and the fact that successive fields can be accessed by tabbing (e.g. alt-x to the field and then tab twice to get two fields further). Here is what I used, but I am open to suggestions what to change. I left the unused shortcuts in for orientation; I could use these, they just don't fit with anything naturally.
- alt-A - Apache Tab
- alt-B - Bathing ADL, tab to other ADLs
- alt-C - Record field
- alt-D - Diagnoses Tab
- alt-E - Glasgow Coma Scale Eye, tab to Motor and Verbal
- alt-F - Final Check

- alt-Y - opens BP Helper, enter SysBP, Dias BP there
- alt-Z - Zerial (ya I know serial is not spelled that way...), tab to remainder of first row
Keep in mind that the labels have these letters underlined, so maybe save a tree and don't print this.
In-tab shortcuts
Tabs Diagnoses, Temp, Labs and Pharmacy are special in that I can use different shortcuts once on that page. The other tabs can't re-use letters.
Diagnoses shortcuts
- alt-W Diagnosis

Temp shortcuts

Labs shortcuts
I tried to only use letters that made sense (ie already occur in words) and rather tab when not possible. Let me know if a specific lab would really benefit from a letter anyway.
