The purpose of this article is to outline the process of scanning TISS28 paper forms, verifying the data in Teleform and committing the data to the TISS28 MS Access database.
These instructions are applicable to the following:
- Teleform version 10.9 installed in a PC running Windows 7
- Scanning to a network share from a multifunction printer/scanner
For additional information see this article: Teleform
Instructions
- wake up the scanner, press "scan to network" button and confirm next few steps
- files will be stored at \\HSC1MSFP0001\INTMED_CCMDB_ScanFolder; only main office has access to this
- Main office access: Pagasa Torres, Tina Tenbergen, Trish Ostryzniuk, Julie Mojica, I think Brad Cloutier also??
Start Date
February 25, 2015 - TISS28 scanning operational
Concerns - Scanner/Printer - Feb 24.15
- scans forms in crooked
- can teleform still catch them when scanned crooked?
- takes longer to scan in each form because must pull each form twice for duplex scanning. Example: 25 form took 15-20 seconds on scan on flatbed scanner. Takes just over 3 mins for 14 forms. Perhaps we can ask Steering if we can lease better quality machine or if others to use for forms & teleform - they contribute to cost of better machine.
- Could try running them through one of the clinic machines to see how their speed matches up. If it is sufficiently faster we could use that or get a similar one. If not any faster, maybe they could benefit from something faster as well and we could work with them to buy.
- too noisy
