Note: This applies to the APACHE II ARF checkbox only, see ARF (Diagnosis) for instructions on coding the diagnosis ARF.
To check of the Acute Renal Failure (ARF) checkbox for ICU APACHE, a patient must meet all the following criteria:
- for 8 hrs consecutively in the first 24 hrs both
- creatinine > 133 mmols
- urine < 135 cc
- patient does not qualify for comorbid diagnosis Chronic Renal Failure (CRF)
