Abscess coding guideline for ICD10
Abscesses should be coded as follows:
- One of the abscess codes (include automated list) eg Skin abscess
- none found
- If not available, as <location infection>, NOS or possibly *itis (eg Sinusitis, acute)
- If not available, as <organ disorder or similar>, NOS combined with Infectious disease NOS
