Translation of Dx Data from CCMDB schema to ICD10/CCI

This page explains how we will translate old dx code entries to the new ICD10/CCI model as part of Category:ICD10 Data Conversion.

ICD10

The translation mapping for the ICD10 side is stored in the s_ICD10_AllDiagnoses_translation table. Data in the L_Dxs table is mapped from this using the sz_dx_to_ICD10 query.

Mapping tool

The translation will be done using a modified copy (fork) of CFE called CFE_ICD10_CCI_mapping.accdb can be found in X:ccmdb\ICD10CCI_Mapping. Like CFE it needs to sit in a directory with a Centralized_data.mdb.

  • main office: need to copy CFE_ICD10 mapping.accdb onto desktop or onto our C drive where you pull in a copy of centralized, PHI, TISS etc. IF you try and run off location on X, gives an error, path not found.

comparing mapped codes

Template:Discussion Need to start comparing mapped codes to our old codes to make sure this makes sense and doesn't throw off reporting.

    • 2018_Mar_9: main office had a look at this today. Added L_DX priority and L_DX Adm_Acq to this query.
      • Need to decide how to tag priority. 2 options: collector to tag priority if in a priority group there are 2 or more code. Checkbox or add label MAIN. Do not want to re select a code in yet another dropdown box.
      • from 1988 to present - Need to think about who and how main priority is to be selected if in a priority group there are 2 or more. We observed that programming would not do this correctly.

Template:Discussion Currently confirming that none of the codes in ICD10 after original import will affect this. Proceeding with check of translation because we can always tweak the query, and there will likely be other issues found.
