LTV
The "Filter" Variable is used to tag those CCU patients that are co-managed by CCU & MICU attending service at the teaching hospitals (HSC & STB).
This code applies to coronary care patients who are deemed "too sick" for the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and are managed or co-managed in the Medical ICU because they required one or more of:
- ventilation
- inotropes
- central lines
- IABP
Tags used are:
- CC - intubated/ventilated patient in MICU under care of cardiology service or co-managed with MICU attending
- CCN - not ventilated but requires inotrope support, IABP or central lines in MICU under the care of cardiology service or co-managed with MICU attending
- LVT = Long Term Ventilator
Legacy Data
HSC Only, started 25 Sept 2003, stopped 2005
- B = CCU patient on B3 only
- H = CCU patient on H7-CCU only
- BH = CCU patient on BOTH B3 & H7-CCU during one admission

- which of the above is still used and which is legacy? If I understand correctly, we will now use the filter field only for LTV, right? We can't use it for that AND something different. - Trish, you sent out instructions to add the "LTV" entry to the PDA - could you also paste them into here as well? The change will likely fail on some PDAs and have to be redone several times, so I would like to have the original instructions centralized for future reference. Also, those instructions could likely benefit from some clarification as I have had several calls with questions already. --Ttenbergen 09:29, 3 July 2008 (CDT)
