Question: when patient has an amputation of one digit, that is done at the bedside under local freezing, does everyone capture this as amputation OR, or under CVS OR as debridement? Fran Lindell, March 19.09

Answer: for the amputation, if this was something a researcher wanted to know about, as long as the amputation is captured, they could pull the chart. There is many other categories we would like to see have subcodes, amputations is not one. The code book would be way too long to add everything. --TOstryzniuk 11:33, 26 March 2009 (CDT)
