This article is about the couriers we use to send items between Category:Offices. Western Messeger(WM)is the Medical Legal Courier used by Hospitals in Winnipeg

Process Review

We would like the other sites to contact their mail room and find out if it is possible to send mail to HSC for free through interoffice mail, and then report back here.

  • STB & HSC - Interoffice mail used since 1999.
  • VIC: been doing it for last ~2 months --Ttenbergen 13:36, 2016 May 12 (CDT)
  • CON: Just started -- Ttenbergen 13:36, 2016 May 12 (CDT)
  • GRA: apparently our courier service is now interdepartmental and does not require a cost centre for billing; not sure when this took effect
  • OAK: interoffice mail currently used--Lpruden2 12:13, 2016 May 16 (CDT)

Contact instructions

HSC

Contacted Kim Militere, Manager from HSC mail room for costs. When we send inter-office mail to other sites it costs 1$ for the large envelopes. She did not mention this being free between HSC and STB, and I did not ask. Requested documentation, they don't have any. Ttenbergen 14:14, 2014 November 20 (CST)

  • Pagasa called Kim and did asked. Between HSC and STB the Cost is free between HSC and STB. No size or weigh restrictions

OAK

  • I contacted the person in charge of our mailroom and he stated that we are currently using interoffice mail, despite my envelope stating "Western Messenger". He noted that there is no budget number and therefore could not charge us and at this time the service is included in the hospital budget.--12:12, 2016 May 16 (CDT)

VIC

We use (WM) Western Messenger here at the Vic /located in the basement at the PRINT SHOP/ directly when you enter the Print Shop you will see baskets to your right/ Courier to Hosp/Clinics/and Doctors offices/ is where you drop off envelopes. Recyclable envelopes are used /supply is located by the Data Collector Mailbox slot in the Print Shop. Once courier log sheet is complete we send to Trish/Pagasa. We have never put a cost center on the envelope. From what I understand all letters etc are tallied up altogether and amount is sent and charged to the Vic Hospital I don't know if they subdivide to the various departments. So in a nutshell I dont know who pays when we send our stuff out. Prior to switching over to WRHA I know our cost centre was under medical intensive care.

GRA

At the Grace we drop off an envelope in the Western Messenger box, in the mailroom located on the ground floor just past the pharmacy, we do not put a cost center, so I am not certain who is paying for this service Lisa Kaita 13:57, 2017 April 26 (CDT)

CON

Using interoffice mail without cost involved. Only requirement is write the address on the envelope. Put the envelope in the mail room in the basement.

Main office

We have premade labels

  • To all site except STB: on the top right of envelope, we write the cost center to charge to.
    • for STB: top right of envelope we write interhospital
    • envelopes or packages are placed in the outbox outside office door or dropped of in mailroom.
