Med Var 2 - Discharge-to Ward

Med Var 2 is used track the specific ward a patient was discharged to. The statistician uses this data to detect patients with a continuous hospital stay.

Once CCMDB.mdb_Change_Log_2012#ver_2012-01-05 is rolled out, Enter the specific ward at any hospital that the patient was discharged to after leaving your ward. Possible values are listed in the Var 2 dropdown box. If the ward is not available in the dropdown or can't be determined from charting, choose "OTH".

Any medicine patient who is discharged to a ward at the same hospital must have Var 2 entered.

Psych entries at HSC

  • It was noticed that in Var 2 (at HSC medicine) PX2 PX3 and PY3 are mentioned a couple of times, we only d/c, admit, pt to/from PY3S and PY3N, and PX2S and PX2N do you want to keep these units separate or categize them as PY3 meaning this is the 3rd floor, and PX2 meaning this is the second floor?
