Error Checker Run by SAS

  • SAS error checker not using it anymore.
  • We are using Access Error Checker.

 #  Tiss_Errors_DID_inconsistent_w_location.
 #  Tiss_Errors_duplicate_D_IDs_in_patient.
 #  Tiss_Errors_NrTissDays_NE_LOS.
 #  Tiss_Error_orphan_patient_entries.
 #  Tiss_Errors_TISS_date_out_of_admission.  
  • Are there special steps how to review the data in each of these excel outputs by the processor?
  • How should this be run and reviewed, weekly or few weeks before quarterly report?
  • What is the process if errors are found?

By running SAS checker, 3 files are outputted in excel format:

  • TISS28Errors (with date run)-report contains the extra TISS days and the missing TISS days
  • TISS28Pending (with date run)- use by Julie, so she can quickly see last date up to which there is complete data in TISS28.data.mdb
  • Tiss28Reminder (with date run)-Started March 2016 - lists record status of all complete and incomplete with missing TISS, 14 days prior to current date.
  1. To run this program use the laptop or Julie's computer with SAS program (Pagasa has password - needs to be put on excel main office use only password list located on: M drive)
  2. Double click on the SAS 9.3 a message will pop up click "close"
  3. Go to File then Open program
  4. Go to My Computer, find: X drive
  5. On X drive double click on PAGASA's folder
  6. Double click on TISS28 folder
  7. Double click on "chkTiss28CD_ver6" and you will see the program
  8. You must change the date on "version=ddmmmyy" to the current date
  9. Change also the date on "enddate=ddmmmyyyy" to the currecnt date
  10. Then click run "picture of a man walking" . Takes about 5 minutes to run.
  11. Click SAVE
  12. Click (X) it will ask you if you want to replace the previous output click "YES"
  13. Will ask you if sure to leave SAS click "YES"

Steps for Processing of TISS errors Error

TISS Error Output from SAS is located in\\Hsc1msfp0001\med_ccmed\PAGASA\TISS28

  1. Open the Tiss28Errors_01Oct2015_b_rtf, to see the output error.
  2. Copy the list in excell so you can manipulate the filter.
  3. Error on: Date,Location, Missing day or Extra day, checked the "EPR" to see patient visit info.
  4. If after investigation you cannot reconcile the error that is the only time you ask the collector by email or by phone.
