Overflow to other units - Critical Care HSC and STB only

In order to track patients comanaged by or moving between ICUs, the following conventions are used.

A) CCU patient “too sick” - in MICU (under Cardiology service care) (HSC & STB)

B) CCU overflow patient in MICU (no beds in CCU)

* Location: CCU
* Type:     C
* Var 5:    CM (overflow CCU in MICU)

C) CCU patient in CCU

* Type:     C     

D) CCU patient “too sick” - in SICU (under Cardiology service care) (HSC & STB)

* Location: SICU (co-managed)

* Filter:   CC (Intubated)  /   CCN (not Intubated)

E) CCU overflow patient in SICU (under Cardiology care)

• confirm that fields that are not listed are indeed supposed to be blank always (e.g. var 5 is only listed for some) --Ttenbergen
• I would say that if IICU is caring for a patient from MICU or SICU then it is their patient and not an overflow at all. What does everyone think about this?--LKolesar 13:29, 8 May 2008 (CDT)
