In order to track patients comanaged by or moving between ICUs, the following conventions are used.
A) CCU patient “too sick” - in MICU (under Cardiology service care) (HSC & STB)
* Location: MICU (co-managed) * Var 1: C * Type: M * Filter: CC (Intubated) / CCN (not Intubated)
B) CCU overflow patient in MICU (no beds in CCU)
* Location: CCU * Type: C * Var 5: CM (overflow CCU in MICU)
C) CCU patient in CCU
* Location: CCU * Type: C
D) CCU patient “too sick” - in SICU (under Cardiology service care) (HSC & STB)
* Location: SICU (co-managed) * Var 1: C * Type: M * Var 5: MS * Filter: CC (Intubated) / CCN (not Intubated)
E) CCU overflow patient in SICU (under Cardiology care)
* Location: CCU * Type: C * Var 5: CS (ccu overflow in sicu)
F) CCU overflow patient in CICU (under cardiology care)
* Location: CCU * Type: C * Var 5: CV
G) MICU overflow patient in SICU (Under MICU care)
* Location: MICU * Type: M * Var 5: MS
H) CICU overflow patient in MICU (Under CICU care)
* Location: CICU * Type: S * Var 3: VM
I) CICU overflow patient in SICU (Under CICU care)
* Location: CICU * Type: S * Var 3: VS
J) SICU overflow patient in MICU (under MICU care)
* Location: MICU * Type: S * Var 5: SM
K) SICU overflow patient in MICU (under SICU care– this is a RARE occurrence)
* Location: SICU * Type: S * Var 1: S * Var 5: SM
L) SICU patient in Recovery Room (under SICU care) SICU "Admit date & time" is when SICU took over patient care in Recovery room. "Admit from" is recovery room. If a patient bounces back and forth between RR & SICU count as one admission.
* Location: SICU * Type: S * Var 3: SR
M) SICU overflow patient in IICU (under SICU care) No new profile when patient is moved to IICU & is still under SICU care
* Location: SICU * Type: S * Var 3: SU

Discussion
- confirm that fields that are not listed are indeed supposed to be blank always (e.g. var 5 is only listed for some) --Ttenbergen
- I would say that if IICU is caring for a patient from MICU or SICU then it is their patient and not an overflow at all. What does everyone think about this?--LKolesar 13:29, 8 May 2008 (CDT)
