- Any stomach contents are considered chemical (HCL), also, Cocaine, insecticide, hairspray.
Dr Garland would like this code used for any aspiration. If there is room in the diagnostic section. Whether the pt's sputum later grows a pathogen, CAP or HAP is a separate issue. see HAP or CAP for details on coding this.
