*This code is used if a person was observed for a suspected accident/injury/trauma but did NOT end up having an injury (e.g. patient fell, hit his head, initial workup was negative but he was admitted and observed for a day, during which no evidence of an actual injury occurred.

*Along with this, you should also code the Mechanism of the accident, using one of the codes in [[:Category:Mechanism]].
*If an actual injury occurred, coded that (or those),  not his entity.
*It is used to code the observational care itself, not the suspected injury. So, in regard to a fall in hospital without an injury, use this code only if there was actual additional medical observation that resulted from the fall, e.g. an extra day in hospital.
