This is the proper thing to do guys!! There are legal implications that could be a problem for you if you submit false records of hours worked that are recorded in payroll and it does not match with where you really were. This was brought to our attention by HR and union in the past, so this is a reminder to staff. Example: if you have a car accident during a time where the timecard submitted shows that you were at work, you could have a problem backing up your claim. Also the other way around, if you are at work on a day that is not documented in payroll and you have a accident at work, again, no record to back up your claim. Your union would not be able to back you up either because you are not following boundary of your own collective agreement. - CUPE 8.00 hours
Actual hours "paid" for a shift:
- MNU 7.75 hours
- includes:
- "two" 15 minute paid breaks and
- "one" 30 minute unpaid meal break
- CUPE 7.50 hrs
- there are no half day shifts unless posted by management.
Hours of work can be:
