Additional Info

Stridor is a high-pitched, wheezing sound caused by disrupted airflow. Stridor may also be called musical breathing or extrathoracic airway obstruction / upper airway obstruction. Airflow is usually disrupted by a blockage in the larynx (voice box) or trachea (windpipe).

  • Template:Discussion I have patients that come in with upper airway obstructions related to foreign body or other causes. I cannot find a specific code for this and just putting "stridor" does not seem sufficient. Maybe I am missing it. Let me know.--LKolesar 11:22, 2018 December 11 (CST)
