GRA CAU is the Clinical Assessment Unit at the Grace (further info on CAUs).
GRA Specific CAU Information
At the Grace, the CAU is considered to be an inpatient location.
CAU patients are being treated as admitted patients rather than ER patients. They are being admitted under Family Medicine. The thinking was that they have been dealt with by ER but not deemed ready for discharge but they do not want them being seen as ER patients.
- NOTE: The patients admitted under Gap physicians in CAU are still considered CAU patients. Those patients that are under GAP's in CAU are CAU overflows. They are not considered to be admitted under Medicine service. They are not Medicine overflows.
Number of beds
10 - can accommodate to 12 beds
Collection instructions
