There are S_ files in the HanDBase3 directory on your PDA
The “s_”-files are stored on the <regional server>\S_Handbase\ directory.
Since the “L_”-files contain different data for each PDA, each PDA has its own directory on the regional server. This folder will contain all “L_”-File relevant to the associated PDA, plus two folders called archive and backup. The “L_”-files are located at <regional server>\L_Handbase\<HOS>_<WAR>\.
The files with ending with “_HDF.PDB” are the HanDBase forms used to access the data in the files of the same name minus the “_HDF”.
On the PDA, all HanDBase files are in \My Documents\HandBase3\ which can be browsed using the File Explorer tool.
Each PDA has a combo of two Access databases associated to it: a ccmdb.mdb file which is identical for all, and a settings.mdb which contains location specific information such as the path to the regional server, and the hospital and ward names. These files are located at <regional server>\programs\<HOS>_<WAR>\ Additionally, this programs folder contains a \Master directory where the master version of the ccmdb.mdb is stored. Any changes required to the program can be made on this master file, and then rolled out by copying the master\updt_all.bat batch file to a local drive (batch code can’t cope with running from an unnamed drive) and running it.
Software and Image Locations
Software install files and codes and similar maintenance files are located in the directory <Regional Server>\Maintenance. As of Jan 2007, this directory contains the following:
- AutoSetup_copy_to_root_c
- Debug
- Documentation
- Images
- Scripting
- Software
The AutoSetup_copy_to_root_c folder contains files to automate the setup of the synching for the PDAs. For more information on the contents of this folder, see the Documentation.doc file in this folder.
Every Data Collection PC has a “New Program” folder on its desktop, and each of them contains a file called debug.bat. When run upon request during troubleshooting, this file copies the sync log (and the verbose sync loc if available) from that PC to the Debug folder to help with off-site trouble-shooting.
The Documentation folder contains this and other documentation files. The Images folder contains backup copies of various models of PDA. The Scripting folder contains copies of various batch files in use by our program. The Software folder contains the following directories:
- ActiveSync
- HanDBase
- PDA BIOS Update (H220 with rubber handles)
- PDA BIOS Update (
- PDA BIOS Update (
- Sprite Backup
