The Critical Care database counts the laboratory tests listed in the L Labs Flowsheet Tab for every patient for their entire LOS in a unit.
HSC Data Collectors only count a subset of labs as described in the program because some of the lab test are downloaded and imported directly in master TMSX Database.
Lab Collection Process
- For every ICU patient,
- for every qualifying laboratory test in dropdown in CCMDB.mdb
- locate the specific lab, enter the number of times the test was performed
- if a culture is taken but the sample was inadequate to produce a result, the culture is still counted under lab counts
- enter Platelets if received
- enter Voluven if received
- if a patient has no entries by the end of their stay, enter a date and leave zeros under all the labs
- for every qualifying laboratory test in dropdown in CCMDB.mdb
