File Shares

Our general purpose file share that can be accessed by all data collectors is the Regional Server

The main office and Tina also share data via the "X:\" drive, i.e. Hsc1msfp0001\med_ccmed

Locations of CCMDB.mdb

• Master files for the data collection process: //Regional Server/Programs/Master
  • this location also contains updt_all.bat to be used to roll any changes out to all locations
• production files on laptops:
  • c:\ccmdb_data for the persistent data storage version of the file
  • c:\ccmdb_program for the user interface version of the file which changes with each new version
    • this also contains the Settings.mdb

Locations of L_files

• Access/CCMDB L_Files are located inside the corresponding CCMDB.mdb program, see File Locations#Locations of CCMDB.mdb
• For the PDA,
  • on the PDA, the L_Files are located in My Device\My Documents\HanDBase3 (with the s_files)
  • on the Regional Server (synced): <regional server>\L_Handbase\<HOS>_<WAR>\.
    • Since the “L_”-files contain different data for each PDA, each PDA has its own directory This folder will contain all “L_”-File relevant to the associated PDA, plus two folders called archive and backup.
    • The files with ending with “_HDF.PDB” are the HanDBase forms used to access the data in the files of the same name minus the “_HDF”.

Locations of S_files

• Access/CCMDB s_Files are located inside the corresponding CCMDB.mdb program, see File Locations#Locations of CCMDB.mdb
• On the PDA, the s_Files are located in My Device\My Documents\HanDBase3 (with the L_files)
• the master files for the PDA (HandDBase) are in \\Regional Server\s_HanDBase

Output Folder

Various output .mdbs and .csvs get stored here, e.g.:

• TASKS.mdb
• TmpV2 1.mdb
• Greensheets.mdb (legacy)

Maintenance Files

AutoSetup_copy_to_root_c

Files to automate the setup of the synching for the PDAs. For more information on the contents of this folder, see the Documentation.doc file in this folder.

Debug

Directory where PDA connected PCs would copy their log using the old PDA version of backup.bat (being phased out, all it did was copy some debugging info to the server).

Every Data Collection PC has a “New Program” folder on its desktop, and each of them contains a file called debug.bat. When run upon request during troubleshooting, this file copies the sync log (and the verbose sync loc if available) from that PC to the Debug folder to help with off-site trouble-shooting.

Laptop Batch Files

The laptops use batchfiles to copy files to and from the network so they can be used off-line. Backup Locations

Collection Backup Files
