Collection instructions

For every ICU patient, count how many venous blood gas tests are done during their admission.

  • What should we do with mixed gases? Lisa Kaita 14:02, 2016 November 29 (CST)
  • Mixed gases are drawn from the PA port of a Swan Ganz catheter. The blood source is apparently vena cava as it is prior to the pulmonic valve, so I think would be classified as a venous sample. This gives us the SVO2.--LKolesar 09:22, 2016 November 30

Transition instructions

Count this for every patient who is in an ICU on January 1, 2017, ie including patients who were admitted before and are not discharged yet. This will mean some back-collection for patients who have been there for a longer time.
