Minutes

  1. We will do a peer audit, likely starting in September 2009. Tina will write up instructions under Peer Audit, see there for details.
  2. Dr. Manish Sood, Nephrologist, Director of Hemodialysis, presented how he used data from our database to research outcomes for patients with ESRD (end stage renal disease). He finds our database an extraordinary resource and is looking forward to further collaboration. He will send us a reference when his research is published.
  • MB has high rate of end stage renal disease (ESRD) which appears to be on the increase.
  • Years 2000-2006 our database shows 34,976 admission, 1200 ESRD of which 489 >65 yrs of age. Excellent population to study and learn more about resource use, outcome, readmission rate, how to improve quality of life etc.
  • working with statistician: data modeling to see which factors influence outcome. Can describe the population in great detail because of the number of variable we collect in our database. The greater the number in the population, the more accurate a predication can be made.
  1. We will discontinue the green sheet ACCOUNTING done on the PDAs. (MEDICINE and STB ICU do this tallying). For this to actually happen the CCMDB.accdb has to be updated first. Tina will post to Greensheets.mdb when this is done, hopefully sometime this summer. NOTE: We are not getting rid of the Greensheet forms.--TOstryzniuk 17:57, 8 July 2009 (CDT)

  3. p:Serge Boulet presented the findings of the focus group. They have been posted to Focus Group 10 June 2009 - please review and comment.
