This template is used for the dxs in the Category:Adverse effect to consistently explain how to use them.

To use:

We have "acute intoxication" codes to code when patients are "high" on a substance.

Acute intoxication codes:
Alcohol (ethanol) acute intoxication (drunkenness) Cannabis/cannabinoids, acute intoxication Cocaine, acute intoxication Hallucinogen, acute intoxication Opioid/narcotic, acute intoxication Psychoactive substance NOS, acute intoxication Sedative or hypnotic, acute intoxication Solvent (organic, inhaled or ingested), intoxication, acute Stimulants incl methamphetamine, acute intoxication

For situations where patients have overdosed, ie where there is an immediate risk to their life, use the corresponding "overdose" code:

Overdose codes:
