Unit was designed to reduce the pressure of opening contingency beds on all 3 Medical Units which have been running at numbers exceeding capacity since the beginning of January 2014. "These patients will be considered discharged so far as the database is concerned and they become a new admission if they bounce back." (as per Dr Roberts). Code these patients as discharged to "Nursing Home Grace" (will be available as of Mon 2014-jan-27), and treat admissions from this ward as new admissions.
