• Includes occlusion of vessels via: ligation, banding, filter insertion (e.g. IVC filter), embolization, repair of aneurysm or AVM (where the abnormal connection was occluded).
  • Includes filter because a filter works by partial occlusion.
  • Regarding of embolization or banding of a vessel that is currently BLEEDING -- it would be appropriate to code both the occlusion of the vessel, and the Control of bleeding of the vessel.
