**We need to have the data collectors grouped by Location, not by name. If you know their name we wouldn't need to search this wiki for the collector working in a specific area. Ideally getting the mailing list to accept emails like DC Victoria would be great. If this is not possible, please list each hospital and list the data collectors responsible under them. When I search Vic icu I do not get any reference to the data collector currently there. --[[User:LKolesar|LKolesar]] 12:20, 13 October 2010 (CDT) | **We need to have the data collectors grouped by Location, not by name. Note: Do not use the contact function on the wiki to send patient data!
This is the contact list for the CCMDB. The same people may be listed in multiple categories.
- The most current Contact information will only be updated here WIKI & in the Global Email Address Book.
- We will no longer be sending out any paper contact list. Please discard any out-of-dated information at your site. Further, please don't print this out so you don't end up with out-of-date information.
- A second place to look up a the most current email address in the Global Address Book for your email however, this doesn’t tell you which ward a data collector is assigned to therefore the best place to look is the WIKI.TOstryzniuk 17:15, 30 January 2009 (CST)
- On the left side of this screen you will see "SEARCH". In here you can type in the data collectors name and find them on the WIKI. Even if you just type in the first name, you will be able to find what you are looking for. You can search for hospitals and wards as well, but keep in mind that the shortest term you can search for is 3 letters.
- You can also LINK to an email address and send emails directly from the WIKI to any of the database program staff member who has “enabled” their profile “preference” to sent & receive email from WIKI. An email from the WIKI gets sent to their work email inbox and a copy to your inbox if you select that preference. This is a good idea to do, then you will have a copy of the email you sent from the WIKI.
PHIA Warning
Do not use contact function on this wiki to send any emails that contain any patient identifers such as name, chart, PHIN.
The wiki is outside the WRHA network. Because it facilitates the email, it gets to see what goes into the email. So, it must not be used for patient data. I realize this would have been very handy, so I am sorry that we can’t do it that way. Having said that, we might need to look into a better way for you to share some of this data.
Discussion
Finding the collector for a specific location
There has been a request for an easy way to contact all data collectors at a given location.
Why do we need this?
Do I assume we want this to exchange data on transferred patients? If not, please add reasons here.
If this is the main reason we want this functionality, then lets instead fast-track the implementation of a different way to deal with pending patients: Interchange
PHIA Concern with broadcast email
However, putting into place a solution that automates our sending of personal health data to a broad list of people in hopes of it getting to the person who needs it would go against PHIA. Sending emails with patient data inside our network to specific people who need it is within the spirit of the law. Sending it to a crowd to find the right person would meet PHIA.
Possible ways to collect local data collectors
At this point we can find collectors can be found on the wiki as follows:
- grouped by locations in Offices Category
- search for a specific location, e.g. for HSC A4, "Victoria S3"
- note: you have to spell out the name of the hospital since it's in the wiki like that
- If you start an email to collectors using this, you can not sent patient data through that linke for PHIA reasons.
To be able to group collectors so that we would be able to email to, e.g. "DC Victoria", a mailing list would need to be set up by eHealth for each location. This list would then need to be maintained, likely by Trish who currently manages the DC Med and DC CC lists. This would mean extra work. The extra work after initial setup could be minimized if the groups are designed such that DC med and DC CC become collections of the local lists.
- We need to have the data collectors grouped by Location, not by name. --LKolesar 12:20, 13 October 2010 (CDT)
